Medical Marijuana Topicals

MMEC

Topical’s are a concentrated form of cannabis you apply to your skin rather than ingesting or smoking. These products are not ingested, they are a great alternative for patients wishing to benefit from the pain relieving aspect of medical cannabis use without the psycho-active effects from smoking or ingesting cannabis.  Many patients report feeling numb or tingly wherever the topical is applied and continued use has shown that there are many healthy benefits to applying cannabis products directly to the skin.

A doctor’s note on Cannabis Topical’s:

Cannabinoids and possibly other healing components of the plant are absorbed directly through the skin; the anti-inflammatory properties are outstanding, reducing recovery time from injuries and promoting healing of lesions.  Topical cannabis has also been used by my lupus patients and rheumatoid arthritis patients to increase the function of joints and decrease nodule formation.

Cannabis foods (including hash brownies and space cakes), are food products made with cannabis in herbal or resin form as an ingredient. They are consumed as an alternate delivery means to experience the effects of cannabinoids without smoking marijuana or hashish.

Instead, the cannabinoids are put into cake, cookie, brownie, or other foods, and are consumed for recreational or medicinal purposes.

Marijuana Strains

MMEC

The two species of the Cannabis genus that are most commonly grown are Indica and Sativa.
Cannabis Indica – Indica plants are short, mostly under six feet, and have chunky green leaves. Indicas originate from Afghanistan, Pakistan, India and the surrounding areas. The high from good quality indica strains leave you relaxed and social. The stronger varieties will numb your body and put you to sleep. Great for relaxation, stress relief, and couch lock.
Cannabis Sativa – Sativa plants can grow upwards of 25 feet tall but most stay under 12 feet. Light green leaves that are long and thin, the stereotypical marijuana icon. The high from sativa strains are often described as uplifting and energetic. These are great for daytime use and a favorite for medicinal users because of the pain relief properties.
Cannabis Hybrid – Hybrid cannabis strains provide the best of both worlds. Expert breeders select the top sativa and indica strains and combine them into super strains that maintain the best aspects from both parents. Hybrids can be sativa or indica dominant and have the effects to match.
Cannabis Keif – Keif is THC crystals from the leaves and flowers of the cannabis plant. Keif can be eaten, vaporized and smoked. It has been reported that Keif is more effective for appetite stimulation, insomnia and severe nausea due to the high concentration of THC.

Oils and Wax – Oils and Wax are extremely concentrated forms of THC. They come in many colors and textures that are based on the variety of cannabis used and the method of extraction employed.  Wax and oil can be vaporized, smeared on a paper or leaf, or smoke on Marijuana. Some patients  have reported using wax or oil for anxiety and insomnia as well as relaxing body aches. The two species of the Cannabis genus that are most commonly grown are Indica and Sativa.
Hash oil is a concentrated substance derived from Cannabis. The texture varies from a crystal(gloss) amber to gold resin(smoother). Hash oil is a resinous matrix of cannabinoids produced by a solvent  extraction of Cannabis. Hash oil is a concentrated product with a high THC content, which generally  varies between 40% and 90%. Related honey oil is a specific type of hash oil extract. Hash oil is traditionally a dark, golden hue.
Wax commonly known as Earwax is pure cannabinoids, containing mostly THC, CBD and CBN’s. It’s  pretty much like honey oil but in a purer form with little to no contaminants. Typically Earwax contains  60% – 80% THC, however with great skill and selective strains. There have been records that indicated upwards 90% THC and the highest recorded being 99.6% THC!
